does this amp acually push out 2k watts, cuz I know people who have the amp and it only does about 1700 1800 watts, and how is this amp for the alpine swr 1242 subs at 1ohm

Hifonics is a quality company. I could say that the 2006d is pretty close to true rated.
This amplifier puts out 2000 watts RMS at one ohm.. too much for one swr 1242, which is only rated at 500 watts RMS.
If you had four swr 1242 subs wired to one ohm it could be perfect.
Or you could wire the alpine swr 1242 @ four ohms to the hifonics bxi 2006d which will put out 650watts, a little strong still, but with some cautious get modifications it'll work good.

Hifonics don't push the power they say.

Those subs are only 500 watts each for a total of 1000 watts RMS power handling.
