Should I go purchase a brand new MX five today or am I supposed to be happy with my '87 Camry?
It's not mid life crisis. I had an MG many years ago. Such fun. do not need a car payment, but I can not stop thinking about it. ???

The envornmental cost of making a new car is big. it's better not to support that unless you have a good reason to.

you have a car. does it work properly. so why change because the ash tray is full. Chrysler the leader in cup holders. Car payment so you don't have the money your car works so why do you need it? You don't. I hate to be a buzz kill but could it not be better to save the money and wait till there's a good reason to purchase another car. I'm one of those who is trying not to purchase just because some commercial tells me that everyone else is or it'll make me a better what every.

i don't care what you do.just get rid of your camry, haha. anything will be more thrilling than that.midlife crisis or not. if you want the mx 5, go out and purchase it. it is your money, you earned it, you may want to use up it in a way that will make you happy.

Phantom that is the exact wishful impulsive spending that can put you in debt. He/She has said they do not need another car payment, so why add it on when their current car runs?

Save up and purchase a car when you really need one i.e. When your 19 year old car hits the dirt .

Being 37.and if I was in your shoes I could do the following.

Keep the Camry for each day work driving, rack the miles on her, she can take it. Bad weather days, snowy days, etc use the Camry.

Now go find a used Miata or MX five that you like and purchase it. The money you save in over all cost go out and purchase things for the car that you like. New stereo, tires, wheels, wing, convertible top, new paint, whatever you want.

Now keep this toy car as just that.you toy. When you come home after work from a bad day..you will be happy to take her for a turn. Have that nice date..bring her out all shiny and clean.

To drive her daily will just bore you with her shortly time. Let alone put wear and tear on her and she will not look "sharp" all the time.

I use to have a 1972 Porsche 914 for this exact reason. I was in hog heaven on nice nights, targa top off and doing 115mph down the free way jammin' to Tom Petty. could not get any better at the time.

Don't do that, All Mazda cars are FORD except RX 8.
Buy a Honda accord or civic or any other Toyota. do not purchase a American junk car with Japanese emblems.

If the Camry is running good, keep it. You seriously like the MX 5?
