I am not too much worried about the accesories as much as how it drives. The dealer told me the 2.0 is louder when you speed up and they didn't have one to test drive so I could never compare them.

There isn't much difference. the major difference is the price.

The 2.0 is more fuel economical.
The 2.3 has more hp.
I drive the 2.0 and the road sound primarily comes from the tires, not the engine.

The question you have to answer is what do you want, fuel efficiency or power.

I love the Mazda 3, do not really know about the 2.0 and the 2.3, price most likely but I just love the style.

I have driven both and now I drive the 2.0 L and I love it. For one, the engine is the same as the Euro Ford concentrate z tec, which we can not get here in N. America. The 2.3 L engine is built by Mazda. The difference in hp is negligeable 150 vs 160 you really can not feel it when driving. Personally, I LOVE the way my M3 sounds, the manual transmission makes it growl : on takeoff I had people ask me if I had a hole in the exhaust and what kind of aftermarket muffler I had on. The sound at highway speeds is normal primarily coming from the stock tires, which aren't the best.
Other differences on the 2.3L include the 17" rims costly tires, bigger brakes and a firmer suspension, great for turning at higher speeds. if you care about that depends on what you plan on doing with the car.
