its located on the air breather box which is right beside the mass air flow sensor..trust me, I am a doctor

Depending on the year. The vane air flow type older has the intake temp sensor on the filter box. SOME of the afterward year Miata's use a hot wire type air flow sensor that also doubles as the intake air temperature sensor.
