I THINK ONLY MERCEDES RECOMMENDS SYNTHETIC OIL..
BUT lots OF SUBARU fans USE ROYAL PURPLE.. I could greatly RECOMMEND IT. I USE IT IN MY FRONT AND REAR DIFFERENTIALS.. GO TO ROYALPURPLE.COM
OR SUBIESPORT.COM

most people change to mobile one full synthetic at about 500 miles after purchasing it new...if it was me I could run mobile one and change it every 2500 miles..horizontally opposed engines make lots of sound after you get a lot of miles on them...start the synthetic now and save your engine

IMO synthetic oils should be recomended for each engine. if you want synthetic, mobil one isn't as good as it used to be. castrol synthetic is good. but if you want a really really good oil, attempt Royal Purple. it gives a stock 01 camaro nine whp with a simple oil change. it does that by decreasing friction in the motor. it'll also save you gas. don't believe me? look it up.

good luck, hope it assists.
