The fuel filter is on the inner frame rail under your truck. you will need a couple of open end wrenches, and if you like to keep the fuel mess to a minimum, change it while the tank is low on fuel and before proceeding, go to the fuel rail on the intake manifold where the fuel injectors are With the engine cold and the key off, take the cap off the schrader valve seems a big tire valve and depress the valve stem to release the fuel pressure 1st. Watch your eyes, it comes out fast. Then go to the filter and remove and replace it. there's generally an arrow on the filter showing the path of the fuel as it should go through the filter. arrow points towards front of truck. I like to take the old filter and clean off the outlet side of the opening and hold the filter over a can, I then softly blow through the filter backwards to its normal flow to check for dirty contagion AND restriction. Gives a good indication of the fuel tank health.
