Integra question?

Postby EMT » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:10 am

my girlfriend loves the 1992 integra I got her for her birthday. she wants to know how much money could it cost to give it the whole dress up rims, spoiler, body kit etc. . could anybody give me a general price range to make a older integra like that look good and how much could it cost for a metallic black paint job?.

Integra question?

Postby Karogros » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:10 am

Depends where you live really. Around here I could say 1000 to 1500 for rims and tires. 200 for a spoiler. two great or more for a good body kit, and the paint cost is primarily labor but about two great to have that done right. so like 5500 for the works. I could be sure the powertrain can handle being around for a long time 1st although, I know its a honda but if you are gonna mod it, may also start with what makes it run, because if you can not drive it, you can not show it.

Its not a honda so I dunno what this man above is talking about. you may be able to use up as much or as little as needed body kits for the integra start at $480 and go up as high as $2500. Spoiler will run you around 100 to 300 depending upon how cool you want to go with it. Rims are going to be around $1000 depending upon what size tires are usually around the same. I would not use up over $1200 on a metalic black paint job.

Integra question?

Postby hote2newne » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:10 am

Right now, if the cars body is flawless, and your wanting to change the color, your looking at about a min $2000. But if you don't want to use up that much money at one time, you may be able to get a midas paint job every year for about $600 a pop.
Now a body kit can cost between $300 $30,000. But considering its a 92 integra, I really can imagine you spending 30k for a full carbon fiber kit. You don't want something cheap. You don't want a fiberglass kit. Trust me, I bought two front fiberglass bumpers for my car, because they kept cracking on me. I went with a urethane bumper. It has held up for four years with no cracking or chipping.
A fiberglass body kit is cheap. Most of the time when you attempt to skimp out on a kit, youll be paying for it afterward on. Now being said, urethane kits are hands down better, but, don't purchase a cheap urethane kit, because your going to be spending more trying to get it fitted.
So find a urethane body kit you like, then ask around about it. Ask them if there was any fit issues when other people bought them.
There are some businesses that come to mind that make great kits with no fitting problems stillen, versus motorsports my recommendation, , then there are businesses who make garbage Advanced, Ground dynamics .
Onto the wheels. again, don't go out an purchase four wheels for $600. #1. you never want to purchase four wheels when you purchase wheels. You generally should purchase 5. The reason is, when you dent a wheel, and the wheel can not be repaired, you have a spare. Instead of looking around and praying that the company still makes that wheel, you know you have a back up.
I could not use up under $1000 for five wheels. A decent set of wheels and tires should cost around $2200. again, go with a reliable name, enkei, volks racing, 5zigen.
Now spoilers aren't my thing. I can not stand big gawky airplane spoilers. My pgt has a factory spoiler, and I could not change it for the world. I believe a factory looking spoiler is far superior to any aftermarket one. except for the stis double plate spoiler .
So I hope this answers your questions

Integra question?

Postby panikeeer » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:11 am

Depends on the style you want to go. you may be able to make this car look good by only doing a couple things.

Lower the car with drop springs or coilovers $100 good used ones ebay
JDM one part headlights on $175 ebay
Paint job black metallic single stage acrylic enamel $800 Cheaper than base coat clear coat $1500

viola Your car is cool. for a total of $1075

If you really want that other look. i.e. big wing, extreme kit, etc

Body kit $350 ebay
Big wing $150 ebay
Paint $800
$1300
optional
Projector headlights $150 ebay
Altezza Gen eight tailights $50 ebay
Mine also get under body neons too $150 ebay
Maybe some graphics too $125 ebay

Either style be sure it's appealing to your tastes and doesn't detract to much from the working part of driving. that's what most cars are for.

Integra question?

Here's the best place to get your answers. g2ic.com
They have everything at this site and tons of pics if you need ideas.

It's a car club just for the second gen Integras. I have one and I love the car. Only thing is bodykits will not be taken kindly. There are lipkits which are a better choice for the integra, just search and you'll see.

As far as the paint job. You could have to ask a bodyshop. Depends on how much is required for the car, metallic will up the price and how well you want it done. Just do not do macco unless you plan on taping everything up and primering the car yourself because they will not do it. I have heard and seen horror stories of peoples windows and exhausts being painted and the paint peeling the next day because they did not primer or prep.

Have Fun.

Integra question?

Postby it2gambl » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:11 am

I doubt you got her a 92 integra. I bet your just asking this question to know for yourself because you're embarrassed to own an integra. don't be =

If you wanna dress up a tuner integra, I propose you go with JDM parts. you may be able to find lighting and body kits for your integra at autocarparts.com/parts/JDM/.autocarparts.com/parts/JDM/.">autocarparts.com/parts/jdm/.. they're a dependable site, my cousin buys parts for his civic there. they're shipped from japan = so it may be expensive for shipping if you live in the USA.

If you want a good spoiler, they're at LEAST 500 without shipping. I don't propose you get one that is too high because its just another excuse for a cop to pull you over.

For an integra, Id propose 17inch rims.No bigger than 17 tohugh good rims could most likely cost you 1.5 two grand

I don't propose you start on bodywork till you're pleased with your cars perforance. If you get picked on a muscle car, he will never know what hit him when he gets owned by a 4.5 lit turbo integra =
