Honda b series exchange b18b1 to b18c1 ?

Postby Pikovit79 » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:14 am

i got a 97 acura integra with the b18b1 in it now and wanted to put in a b18c jdm motor in it out of a gsr, I was just wondering what all I could have to do or get to put that motor in, since its a exchange off of a web site it comes with the axles, itr header, trans, and ecu obd1 not sure if it comes with the wiring harness which I was wondering if I could just use my factory one and run the wires for the vtec parts?

the b18c is a direct screw in, you'll have to switch out the ecu and run wires for vtec. you'll need a jumper harness to run the obd1 ecu in the obd2 car.

they are on ebay pretty cheap

It's an direct exchange all you will need is to wire the v tec wires to the ecu and your set.

i could strongly reccomend you NOT try this exchange on your. a wire harness is a tedious, greatly complex part of equipment to try to install, and if your exchange kit doesn't include one, you'll have to buy one able of properly wiring in your new engine to your present car. unless you're a licensed mechanic or a certified honda technician, you shouldnt try to install a motor, which is the heart of the car, without at least the correct supervision and guidance if at all, if you expect your car to ever work properly again.

Man do not do it its not worth it, and you should just gotten a GRS man. I know a licensed engineer who tried the same thing except it was a civic. He also spent 30 great on the tuner but when he put the key into the ignition, the car didn't start up. When he told me this I laughed my off but I felt sorry about him too. He devoted so much time onto that civic but it didn't work.

I just propose you get a turbo on the integra and itll go faster. be sure you have a intercooler or else your engine will burn up and your car will go KA BOOM .
