What is the simplest way to take off the crank pully screw on a 1992 Acura Integra.?
Also, is it left or righthand thread.

use a good 1/2 inch drive air affect wrench and it should come right off. it's left to loosen.

Take a sledge hammer to the top of the motor. that's most likely the simplest.

It is a regular right hand thread. You'll need a good quality, powerful half inch drive affect gun and be prepared to apply it for some number of minutes.Sometimes setting the affect to tighten, give a couple of bursts then go back to loosen will do the trick.Be patient.DO NOT use a harmonic balancer puller, you'll crack the pulley.

Easiest way is certainly with an affect wrench.

If you do not can access an affect wrench, open the inspection plate or take off the starter motor. Jam something to keep the flex plate/fly wheel from turning and use hand tools to loosen the crank pully screw. don't use this technique with an affect wrench, stuff can fly

Standard lefty loosey right hand thread screw.

A powerful affect wrench 1000 ft lbs may do it. Using extensions will decrease the amount of torque on an affect wrench. The twisting flex negates the effect of the affect. If you do not have a big affect wrench, then this technique may work:

Use a good breaker bar at least 1/2" drive, with a long extension so you may be able to turn it outside the wheel well. If it is a manual transmission, you may be able to attempt putting it in gear and holding the brakes, but the clutch will slip. Yes, it takes that much torque. you will have to have a friend use a hefty screwdriver or something to hold the flywheel. If you have a five foot pipe to put over the breaker bar, great. make sure to support the breaker bar with some bricks so you may be able to torque it.

All engines I have worked on turn clockwise when looking at the engine from it is front. Use a long 1/2 inch drive and correct size socket, wedge breaker bar to frame or another secure place, and bump the starter, screw breakes loose, remove screw with fingers.
won't WORK TO TIGHTEN.. screw will break off inside crankshaft before you know it. Then you are in real trouble. Use one of the other techniques to tighten. When loosening screw, be cautious where your fingers are. Engines eat fingers. Good luck.

If you do not have the tool then do what I did purchase a chain wrench be sure it is a real good one because that screw is really hard to get off but I could propose you just go and purchase the tool from autozone they sell the crank pulley wrench there. Theres no way of taking that screw off without something strong holding the pulley .
