I'm wanting to purchase a 1997 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. I'd like to know if anybody has one and what the pros and cons are for you? Which year out of those is the best? Any and all info will be appreciated. thanks.

1st and second generation eclipses are really fun cars particularly in AWD, turbo, or a mix of both. but, these cars are plagued by lots of reliablity issues ranging from electrical problems to serious mechanical issues like walking crankshafts. What should be mentioned is the popularity of this car with the tuner community. The turbo models in specific also as the non turbo models are liked with tuners. despite of the year, if you purchase one be sure it's a 1st owner, preferably an adult owner who maintained meticulous fix records, otherwise you may be owning my old eclipse which that I returned to stock and looked normal, but at one time runned 450 hp and ran at the track every weekend.
