I have a 2001 mits. eclipse 4cyl and I want an intake. am I supposed to get cold air? short ram? k&n? aem? or any ideas for more hp under a grand???

depends on how you wanna use your car. if your a bit short on finances then I could propose a basic intake&#92,headers&#92,exhaust upgrade to make it run better but still for street use. but if you wanna push it for sport performance, the basics I&#92,H&#92,E plus turbo is the way to go. brands aren't important. k&n could do good. check your wallet 1st before deciding on what kind of car you wanna make. btw, cold air is the best.

Intakes of any kind are only good for around five 10hp. The best HP gains may be made three ways:

1.Turbo Charge up to 200hp gains
2. Exhaust Catback, Up pipe, Down pipe good for up to 100hp
3. Chip Up to 100hp gains.

Of the three, exhuast could be the cheapest agreement.
