What are the models of eclipses and what are the fast ones, how much hp?
i want a 3000gt but can not pay for one so I could like to know the eclipse models. thanks in advance

purchase a first gen, they're the best I believe, I have bought fixed up and sold about ten now, well, DSMs as well as eagle talons, granted the 2nd gen turbocharged has 15 more hp, it also weighs lots more, best bang for buck is a first gen eagle talon tsi awd with only spending the difference for a 1st gen to a second you may have your hp hovering at about 320 hp, all for under 4g for car and upgrades, oh, a little recognized secret, the front wheel drive models stock are faster in the quarter mile than the awd because they have different trannys and different gearing, the awd will jump on take off but in while your in 3rd gear the fwd will scream on by and you'll hear him shift into fourth and you still have another 500 rpm left in 3rd I hope this answers your question

I'm not sure which models exist, but I can guarantee you, NONE of them are comparatively fast in the factory form. The lowest quarter mile drag strip time for any stock eclipse won't reach lower than 14 seconds. That will include the newer V6 models. Fast may be interpreted in so many ways. :

if you are talking about the new ones they are not going to be fast at all. but you have the GS and the GT
GS is 2.4Liter four cylinder engine
GT is 3.4Liter six cylinder engine
both come in manual or auto transmissions and the GS starts close to 19500.00 20500.00 the GT starts close 24000.00 26000.00

now for the older ones can not go wrong with the GSX its the closest you will get to a 3000GT its an all wheel drive turbo 2.0 L four cylinder producing 210hp and 215lbft or torque.

If you can not pay for the car, you have to check insurance before you purchase. If you want the biggest bang for the buck, I could say a used Z 28 with the LS1 engine.

The 2007 Eclipse comes in two models the GS with 162 hp and the GT with 263 hp. If you're considering purchasing an older style Eclipse the RS and GS are both rated at 147 hp five Speed Manual Transmission 142 hp four Speed Sportronic Transmission and the GT is 200 hp either Transmission and the GTS is 210 either Transmission .

Driving an 02' GS Eclipse throughout the week to keep miles and save gas on my '05 SuperCharged great Prix . it's a five speed 2.4L and slow as heck.but I average 27 mpg which is lots more than my '05 great Prix

I have an 03 Eclipse GT. It comes with a 200hp engine v6 3.0
I has pretty good pickup good enough to race on roads with any other car. If you r intersted in drag .. this may not suit you
One good thing abt these cars is they may be customized as you want but I m not sure abt the new models

i agree wit the man about the talon DSM power is the best you may be able to get because I own a 1990 Mitsubishi eclipse four cyl. and trust me this puppy is fast enough to burn a V8 mustang and keep up wit a evo and its stock I recently got a magnaflow muffler and its only about five ten hp it gained and you may be able to feel it so I can say it has125hp
the engine is pretty much stock but the only thing I changed is the muffler and the rims I have 17" rims now but the over all handling, go wit first gen eclipses the best bang for your buck OH and I payed $500 for mine and I am happy I did purchase it.........

If you want something cheap and so so fast, go with a 95 99 Eclipse GST Turbo model . Non turboed Eclipses are S L O W. I got one about a year ago and am looking at selling it already.
