Can I race my sonata's engine?

Postby Tams » Sat Oct 06, 2007 2:23 am

you may be able to attempt, but as long as you had driven some amount of miles 1st.Mean about three 6k miles. have to wear in the engine and such. And at least change the oil in it once. Good luck on the factory, or dealer honoring that warranty when you blow it up over revving it.

Yes. Most new cars come with some sort of rev limiter, so you may want to be good. If you really want to race, I could propose a car with a better power to weight percentage, although.

I guess it depends on your meaning of "race". If you have a V6 in there, then it is a decent engine but I still do not think you stand a chance against a real mussle car.

If you plan on keeping your car for a long time, I would not recommend any kind of racing, as it'll cut down the life of everything in the car. If you do not mind replacing things, then go ahead and race. Just do not loose control of the car or you may be able to damage the whole car.
