Hyundai SUV'S Why do Tucson and Santa Fe have alike pricing? Why do they compete on pricing with each other.
The listed price of the Santa Fe is higher than the Tucson, but real selling price is close to the same. Why could one company Hyundai produce alike type vehicles that compete in pricing and style. This is for 2006 model year.

The Tucson is built on the Elantra platform and the Sante Fe is built on the Sonata platform. the smaller suv is more liked hence the higher price or, to look at it the other way, the Sante Fe isn't as liked so more savings are available.

A could just be some close out or liquidation sales
B possibly they want to push some car over another to increase sales figures
C may just be something done by the dealership itself to clear space for incoming autos.

They are pretty much twins. Kia and Hyundai shared parts and parts of them, kinda like GM has twins between Chevrolet/Buick and Ford between Ford/Mercury.
The shell is different, that is about it.
