just because the check engine light comes on, means that the problem is in the engine, it also functions, with the liquid levels, radiator, cooling fans, power steering, transmission, cruise control, dirty air filter, o2 sensors, emission system, unless it sets a hard code in the computer you may never find it. has anybody checked the body computer? or the transmission?
one more thing on some newer cars if the fuel cap isn't tight where the fuel system can pressurize properly, it'll because the light to flash and never set a code
