Why could anybody purchase a lexus when it is just an costly toyota??

Good question. Why could anybody purchase a Cadillac when it is just an costly Pontiac? Or a Chrysler when it is just an costly Dodge? Or a Lincoln when it is just an costly Ford?

If you want a luxury car you could decide a luxury car and if you want the prestige of a luxury nameplate you could decide a luxury nameplate.

That's just why. A Lexus is a little bigger and heavier, and has a somewhat better ride and some more amenities. If a Camry will make you happy, but, and you do not care about the nameplate, then you may be able to save some bucks and purchase a Camry.

It depends on what floats your ship.

Lexus's are luxury cars. Toyata does not make luxury cars.

Because they look nicer than Toyotas

For the same reason people purchase a Mercedes over a Honda, and the same reason people purchase Armani instead of Wal Mart. Or a Tag Huer over a Casio watch.

Show me the Toyota variant of the Lexus LS430, GS430, SC430, IS350.

The only Lexus that's a Toyota at times is the ES350 which throughout some model years shared the same platform as the Toyota Camry. Plus when Lexus tried out new vehicles, like the LX470.it came out as a dressed up Land Cruiser and has been called the LX450. Was a test car to see if a market was there. Once the market has been realized the SUV was totally redesigned by Lexus only.

Lexus is own company and does own building, designing, etc.

Why purchase Acura? Just a Honda. Why purchase Infiniti? Just a Nissan. Why purchase Cadillac or Corvette? Just a GM.

Did you know that in Japan they're all called Toyota? No mark attached to the badge over there, so they did not feel the have to rebadge them as Lexus. Same goes for Honda and Nissan where they may be rebadged in other countries but not in Japan.

Have you ever been in both? I have. Let me tell u, there's a big difference. Lexus' have leather instead of cloth, although you can get a Lexus with cloth, rare although. Can you get a Toyota with massaging back seats, or rear seat heaters/coolers? Does toyota have wood all over the car. Not to talk about the suspension and steering. How about this one, do they have a car that can parallel park itself? All this technology cost money, it does not come free of charge. there's also radar cruise, which slows you are car for you when you r coming up to something. I'm done.

i kno toyota makes lexus, but lexus is the luxury branch of toyota, cuz toyota doesnt make "real" luxury vehicles. I agree tht some lexus cars look alike to the toyota ones, but so do honda acura cars and nissan infiniti cars. its not the outside tht counts, if your a real car person, its all abt the inside. im out

We've owned two Toyotas Camry and Sienna and a Lexus LS400 . there is a big difference between a luxury car and a regular car. My old Lexus is so much nicer than lots of new cars. Once it comes down to replacing our Lexus, it'll be a hard choice as to what to get. If it makes you happy, we will never get another Lexus. it is because they cost too much and it costs too much to preserve them. Repairs are outrageous.
