Is it common for freelancers to tear up every street in town?
I live in a town of about 1500 people. we're having our streets resurfaced and the people doing it have almost every single street in town torn up. Is this the way it's typically done? It could make more sense to me to do sections instead to make to get around easier. Any freelancers out there have some input?

Yes it is common to do the job in sections, however your complete town of 1500 people is only a 'section' . Think about it comparatively speaking and I think you will understand .

If every street needs repairs, yes it's.

Consider:

Why is not the town fixing these potholes?
Well, they're fixing some, but why are not they on MY street?

When I 1st read your question I thought you talked about Houston. haha there's so much construction going on here that's like driving on an obstacle course.
The road I take travelling to work is to get a big reconstruction and widening. There are a couple of intersections I dread due to abrupt change in direction because of a new left turn only lane. If the person in the right lane is not paying attention they'll end up in YOUR lane forcing you into the left turn only lane.
