Okay so i',ve recenty bought an 07 Mini Cooper S 1.6, and it doesn',t have the smoker',s pack, which I expected meant it didn',t have a lighter or an ashtray, but i',m finding I can',t use the lighter socket to plug in any chargers for my phone or sat nav is this normal or is there a fault ? Because I find it hard to believe you must pay for electric in a socket . Plus my manual obviously states I can plug things into it and labels the LIGHTER as extra, NOT the power socket.



Should I just take it to my nearest Mini Cherished dealer that',s where I got the car, it wasn',t a private seller ?

Sounds like the power socket is flawed, or the fuse has blown or the things you're trying to plug in don't have the correct end on them. Some chargers/adaptors are different and there are two different kinds.

it obviously has a fault so take it to any mini dealer and they'll gladly check and fix it for you. it'll be protected by the warranty so wont cost a penny.
