If not what do you recommend? I',m in the market for a new car.

They are a great car, you'll hear this lots but they're fast, reasonably priced, safe, cheap and dependable.

My mum and dad had a volvo s40R TDI 2.0 and that had done 135,000 miles nad it's still going to day because we have seen it out and about in town.

It is a dependable car. I bought my 2001 S40 from my brother about two years ago and it was great. He bought the car second hand and it had no problems. These cars tend to run to 200k miles if you take good care of them. One issue is that Volvo parts are costly but don',t let that put you off because they're safe, dependable and fast and the newer ones are better.

It',s a good car till the warranty expires then it's a money pit. Volvos not have a good repute for dependability. Yes, they're safe cars, but dependability is the pits.
