You want to use good wire that is the same size or bigger then the wire your useing with the lights. Use Ford starter solenoids for relays, they're hard core and aren't in the same class as those cheap square ones that have been recognized to fuse in the on poz and burn your HC daylighters smile faces off, yep happned to me. Use crimp soderless connectors that are watertight, over that use heat shrink tubeing on the necks of the conectors also, cheap insurance and they appear like factory made things. be sure you use stainless steel grounds, find a place that won't get pooling water to put your ground in, be sure you get steel to steel. Goto a welding supply store, they have diff guage wire and brass fittings to make your job a lot easyer. Also use a good switch, not a cool bling switch. Use a good 30 amp switch that again is grounded well. USE A FUSE, I can not stress this enough as you'll burn your 4x4 to the ground without them. Use a weather tight fuse right off the Pos side of your Batt BEFORE the relays. I rewired my 1972 GTO and made a plexy glass toped relay box with Bosh realys in them. I have M1A Tank lights that I rewired. I know what not to do. Good luck, write me if you want some more ideas.

You may need a purmit to do that. In some regions of the country, only certain types of vehicles are allowed to have roof lighting.

Highly recommend using a relay for any lights. I put my lights direct wired to the battery with a fuse and a relay which has been connected through another switch to my high beam switch under the dash. I like this way because I can use the high beam switch to shut them off, and I can still have them off with the high beams on if I want. you'll use the positive side to run your lights and the body ground for the negative side.
If unfamiliar with wiring, have someone else do the wiring because you may be able to really mess your electrical system up if you do it wrong,
