How do you change a waterpump?

Loosen the bolts to take off fan belt. Remove belt then Remove the fan itself. There are four hex head bolts that hold the fan on the water pump. You have to put a long screwdriver between the fan bolts to stop it from turning while your loosening. you will see what I mean. Then remove the fan shroud. Once you have these things removed your prepared to get the pump out. Disconnect water hose to pump then remove the pump bolts. Water will come out. do not forget to purchase gasket sealer when putting the new one on. it is not that hard. I have a 95 Sahara and have done this three times since 95.

I think the next question is where is it??? Look at the job and see what you have to take off to chang the thing.. Fan FAn clutch hoses purchase new ones Radiator shroud.Belts drain radiator and block.. . Tools to take off the bolts bought at Snap On call for the truck $150. . don't round off the screw heads. Turn counter clock wise to get them off. If you break off one of the bolts that's another basket of eggs. Skinned knuckles and bad tempers. may have it changed in two days your not a mechanic there's no shame .

DO NOT LISTEN TO T_BONE. He hasn't done it and a waste of time to read and him get two points.
The fan isn't connected to the water pump.. he's no idea what he's talking about or the man who talks about three hours.
The pump is focused in the block, below the thermostat, and only has a pulley for the serpentine belt on it. Drain the coolant and dispose of properly. Remove that pulley. You may find that two bolts to the power steering pump are bolted to the water pump on the drivers side, remove them. There are five bolts that hold the pump to the block. Remove them and note the one with rust on the threads..That is in the water jacket and you may want to lightly coat the thread with RTV upon reassembly. Carefully clean all the old gasket material away from the block..DO NOT let the material drop into the block..will clog the radiator.
There are different opinions, on the next, but I generally put a LITTLE RTV on the new gasket, both sides..No too much or will go into the radiator and rebolt the pump to the block in round pattern. Rebolt the power steering pump bracket to the water pump. Reconnect the pulley and install the belt.
Refill the radiator, loosen the upper heater hose to purge the air from the head. be sure the radiator is full throughout this procedure to get air from the head.
Start and go back to Jeep'N.
