At what RPM am I supposed to shift gears at in a 2001 BMW 530i?
Its a Regular Manual Transmission Not the steptronic . But the holders manual makes no talk about of the proper RPM's.

Ok well if you want to get maximum hp porduced then I could change at around 5500 6000 and Im presuming your redline is at 8,000 and I know this because the year of your car had the M54B30 engine which is a 3.0 L 231hp engine. If im correct then I wouldnt go any higher then that because redlining it doesn't give you all the HP your engine can give out, because on every car there's some RPM where it performs best. attempt not to change frequently because you'll wear your clutch out lots faster and also you won't do really good on your gas mileage.

It depends on your comfort, and acceleration. typically about three 4k rpm is ok.

Redline, Every Time.
There's really no other satisfactory way to drive.

isn't there a light on the dash? I'd guess you may want to shift when that comes on. If not wait till pistons fly out of the hood, then know it should have been right before that.

Truly, if you can not figure out when to shift gears in a manual transmission car, do not drive one, particularly not a hot BMW.. But for real, just listen to the sound of the engine's RPM's, and you will know when to shift. at least, I hope you could.
