I really like them. The CVT transmission works lots better than some people say. IT handles nice too, and has lots of cool features, like the chill zone. That said, I really love the way the new Jeep Patriot looks. it is established off the same platform, but is quieter and a bit roomier. It also comes standard with more safety features, like electronic stability control. You may want to test drive one of those too, before making a choice.

A friend of mine has one and loves it.

Forget it if you want performance on pay more for the RT . The base engine has 148hp and you really have to take the manual transmission or it is quite slow.
The bigger engine that has 158 should be a bit better but you may be able to only get it with the CVT transmission. and it is a bit lazy for a transmission. So you will not beat any speed records with this car.

The sound level is quite high.

But it is a good looking small car. practical and spacious and it handles quite well.

A little advice. Also give a look at the Honda fit Small but great cargo space and dependable And the Mazda three hatchback possibly one of the best small car on the market now

good luck.

the patriot is atually established of the compas platform which is somewhat bigger and longer than the caliber. it's also a 4x4 and may be ordered in a trail rated variant. all are made at the same plant in belvedere il. the caliber is a liked car around colleges as it's pretty cheap.
