Pungent smell when to get in the car.? |
|
11 pm and I was one mile from my house. The A/C runned external air in mode and the Civic drove happily. I felt light headed as a chemical pungent smell filled the car. I stopped and I checked and thought it came from outside through the A/C but I was not convinced.
Next day morning car parked overnight I opened the door and I felt the same smell. Thought the smell has been trapped in last night. I went to office with opened windows. Parked the car windows closed now and came there evening and opened up the doors to find the same smell.
I think it's generated in the car itself. I don't exactly understand how. The car is standstill when this smell is generated. The car runs for a mile and this smell vanishes so I ruled out any burned electricals or fuel
any idea?

Well it depends on the car. I had a ford that had a smell turned out to be the heater core Freon leaked in the car.
Another thing it may be that you spilled something and it mildewed in the carpet of the car.

if it smells like rotten eggs, and a manual its your clutch, If its a auto then it may be a rodent dead in you engine bay, or if it smells electrical it may be battery acid on you lines. After you drive it goes away, but comes back, then its friction in the motor, check your oil. :

your car can be toking the weed in your absence. Have you been parking it near any VW's lately? That light headed feeling was a contact buzz.Spend more time with your car. And talk to it about the dangers of the mary jane.
