alright so im about to get out of iraq and back to the states in about a month and im thinkin of purchasing a 2.5i. for what ever reason their web site wont load up out here but from the pictures I have seen and the reviews I have read it's a sweet ride.

my questions are:
they don't come stock with turbos but are the internals in the boxer engine the same as a wrx/sti?

if the internals must b changed out, what is an estimate a sports shop may charge me on doing the work?

are there a lot of screw on upgrades headers, undrive pulley kit, cold air intakes, ext. available for the 2.5i?

ive heard a rumor that subaru is giving 5grand back to soldiers who deployed, true?

what does the car do in the 1/4 and zero 60?

does the car have a govner on it?

yup that is bout it, donut for ever can answer the most of my questions : P

one No.
2 The blocks are different. An STi sb costs ~1700, WRX sb ~1600. if you go the path of forged internals in the 2.5i block, the block itself is different, plus this path costs more, lots more once you add in everything else.
3 Not really.
4 Possibly. While I have never heard of this from foreign manufacturers, I have heard of it from GM & Ford.
5 zero 60 7.9 sec,1/4 16sec
6 For WRX, 144. For 2.5i, no clue, but most likely the same, though I imagine it is drag restricted before then.
7 Okay, there was not another one, but if you are going to mod a 2.5i, why not just get a WRX or STi? A couple great more, and it is a much better starting platform for power mods..

You may want to think about a Legacy specification B. I drove one for some months and wow..what a ride. Already set for racing, but a good day to day car. More room and a bit more tame than a WRX sti.

The 2.5i and wrx come with an open deck block thin cylinder walls with decent internals, clearly the internals will differ between the "i" and wrx. Where the STI has a semi closed deck block, thicker walls, and an completely different head, tranny, suspension, etc.

Don't waste your money on boosting a 2.5i, nobody really ever does it because they block can only handle ~6 eight psi. you are way better off paying the extra money for a wrx. Or if you get an "i" without warranty, do a motor exchange with an STI EJ257 USDM .

All of the parts you listed should be on the market, but will give you minimal power gains. it'll just sound louder and suck more gas.

I've never heard of that.

1/4 mile for the "i".. Im guessing mid to high 15's. zero 60 no idea.

Yes.
