Changing the battery in the remote shouldn't deprogram the remote if done properly. See page 99 of your holders manual
The remotes can only work to "lock/unlock" when the ignition is in the lock/off position. If you are testing the results of reprograming, with the key in the ignition & the ignition in any position, other than lock/off, your 'test' will give you the situation that you are reporting in your other question
You may program up to four remotes & you have to program them ALL simultaneously.
Try reprogramming again, using the EXACT directions on pages 97 99 of the holders manual.
I will supply the link to download your manual in the sourcebox below.
The download is FREE taken from Fords web site & in pdf format. you may want to save the manual to your computer for future reference.
I hope this helps.

If you changed the battery already it may have to be reset. See your local dealership despite of where you bought it and they can reset the frequency for you.

Be sure you put the new battery in facing in the correct direction.
If you have a second RKE, attempt it to confirm that the truck can get the signal from it. If a second RKE does not work, the problem is probably in the truck. Is the antenna connected? Any work been done on it recently? Check the fuse for the door locks maybe on the power windows circuit, if it has them .
Aside from that, did the RKE device get wet or have something spill onto and into it?
If you may be able to take it separately and are able to access the circuit board, is it wet, or does it appear like something spilled and dried on it? If circuit boards can usually be cleaned with isopropyl and water rubbing alcohol 70% . 1st remove the battery. Then swab the contagion with a cotton ball or small brush three or four times, then dry it off with a facial tissue. Let it dry completely 1/2 hour in a warm sunny place should be good, then replace the battery and attempt again.
