do you have the haynes manual? it should tell how to do this, they cost about 15 dollars, my bf just removed my alternator from my mustang, it was a matter of some bolts, it'll save you a cost of about at least 60 dollars, it could have cost me 140 dollars to have someone do this for me and rebuild my alternator, and to just take it in, with it already taken off, will cost about 85.. I have a 99 mustang, he did have to pull a plastic part off that was "taped" on, connected to the wires that go to the alternator, but it screws back on and I didnt' need the plastic tape. hope this helps
