Anything is possible provided you have the money and the fabrication expertise.
Seeing that you had to ask this question in the 1st place I doubt you have the fabrication expertise to do this yourself.
It',s not like the old days where you could exchange nearly any motor into any car without much mods. Swapping drive trains from different manufacturers is like put a square peg in a round hole.
You will need a good donor car with a good engine and transmission for the exchange. Don',t forget the complete wiring harness from the donor car. This is because the computer and sensors from the eclipse won't work. None of the connectors won't work. So the wiring harness from the Saturn could have to be grafted into the Eclipse so the engine could run and the transmission could shift. but you could also have to keep the Eclipse wiring harness and computer so the radio and accessories could work.
However you can also want to think about grafting the Saturn instrument panel into the Eclipse because it's not likely that the speedometer, tachometer, and gages from the eclipse will be matched with the Saturn computer.
You have to checkout your local emissions laws. Some states don't let this kind of exchange. In Came states the engine must be from the same maker and can't be older than the engine being swapped. If you have emissions testing in your area you could end up with a car that will never pass emissions testing and could not be allowed on the street. If you don't have emissions testing in your area this is a non issue.
Like I said before, I don',t think you have the fabrication expertise or access to the obliged fabrication equipment so you'll have to pay someone to do this custom work for you. The going rate is about $100 per hour. I could thing a exchange like this could take between 100 to 150 hours. So plan on paying between $10,000 to $15,000 for the labor alone.
In the end you'll have a bastard car that really isn',t worth all that much money. You could have a hard time finding a mechanic wanting to work on a car like this.
Personally, I wouldn',t do it.
