Seriously, Can you install in the doors of a 1988 porsche 911 coupe a strengthend aluminum side affect beam?
Can you open up the door and really just get a place or do it yur self and weld or screw a aluminum side affect beam or bar into the doors. I'm serious, I really love the design of this year of the 911 but I could be afraid to drive this and be worried that if I were hit I could get hurt badly. I could probly do this to the doors because of this year the doors are weak and if a car or truck comes by and hits my side then the car will just collaps in. I could also but a roll cage into the porsche too. if I can not do this to the doors. also can you and a flat bar of steel right before the foot well to theres lots of protect in a frontal accident and can I also add a steel flat bar but smaller between the engine and the backs of the rear sets. also this is just a fun question of this year of this porsche could yo.u rather have a coupe, cabriolet, or targa

Not knowing what year of one of the best cars in the world talked about. really by 1980 Porsche had side affect steel tubing inside the door in the USA.Besides side affect never been a problem with the iconic design of the Porsche 911. I used to tell my turbo holders if you may be able to keep from wrecking this car the 1st year then you have done something. If you doubt me just pull the door panel and look inside about six or seven inches down from the belt line for the beam. US government mandated bumper height and the 1973 bumper standard caused lots of manufactures to rethink safety. Learning to drive the 911 is the best thing you may be able to do register for a drivers school PCA clubs all over Have track time. Go out loose your fear about motoring around in a car that can drive circles around nearly anything out there with stock tires and rims

I like the Targa.
If you're that afraid, maby this is not the car for you. By the time you install all that stuff you will not have any room left in it.
Anyways, it's all do able, but why?

Wow why do not you purchase a Hummer H1 that's the only car it sounds like you could feel safe in. As to the rest of your question. Yes you could do all those things all you need is time, money and some big body expertise.
