Ford Mustangs have a much bigger following so lots more aftermarket accessories and performance parts.
NOTE: A Mustang is a coupe, if you have kids, get the Charger. If there aren't kids.the Mustang is the clear choice.
The resale value of the Mustang GT is good.
I owned a '99 GT and loved it. I added a supercharger and got spectacular acceleration.
There will be kits that mimic the net GT500KR AWESOME.

Only you may be able to answer that question. I'll say that though I'm a big classic mopar fan, I personally own a 1985 Mustang GT convertible I bought for a project and I totally love. Many people offered to purchase it, but I intend on passing it down to my now four year old son, which pisses off his eleven year old sister who wants it.

thats a pretty jump you made between a mustang gt and a carger hemi. the ford puts out nearly half the power as the hemi, but it weighs a pretty bit less, and that is most likely the major swaying point in this argument. if you are looking for off the line grunt, the charger is the way to go, because as you most likely know, dodge is recognized for its obsession with torque. fords mustang although, is no slouch down the quarter mile, and with a power to weight percentage that puts the carger to shame, it could most likely win in a heads up race. plus the fact stated earlier that the mustang is so light, andling is automatically better with the mustang. with this in mind, also realize that the carger comes factory with an auto instead of a five speed. all in all, id decide neither. just save your money till the fall of 2008 and purchase a challenger. ill put $2500 down that the callenger will destroy the mustang and camaro. that is my two cents worth. take it to the bank

Have you looked at the gas prices lately? attempt to get something economical. Like a Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, etc.
If I had to decide between the two although I'd definitly get the Mustang. That new Dodge Charger is not a charger, its a family sedan, and the Dodge Magnum is the station wagon variant of the that Charger. The original Chargers were only two door, and that Hemi is not near as big as the original Hemi and do not have any power. Plus the original chargers did not have a hemi.

I'd purchase the Charger Hemi. Why? based on your age, insurance may be cheaper. I know someone that owns a Mustang GT and he pays 150.00 per month on insurance. He's around 40 to 45 yrs of age. does not have a bad driving record. My cousin has a Charger with a Hemi and he pays 300.00 every six months and he has a bad driving record. he's 34.
that is just one item although. The Hemi does have a characteristic that the GT does not. When you're driving in cruising mode, it's only operating four cylinders and the other four are lying dormant till you need them. that means, better mileage and long trips between the pumps. as well, having four doors are a great plus. But, you choose what you want. Because you're the one that has to live with your choice.

You will not be disappointed if you decide the Charger. The Charger R/T has the Hemi and, like someone else said, if you have kids it has four doors. You may also go a step up and get a Daytona R/T. it is got ten more hp than the base R/T and is very beautiful and comfy. Or you may be able to get the SRT eight and be envied by everyone you know. Those things are monsters.
I do not know about Mustangs although. I agree with whoever said that you see them everywhere so it may not feel as special as a Daytona R/T could. I rode in a Mustang last year and all I can say was that it was uneasy. though, it was a rental so that may have been a factor. I'll say this about Mustangs although, I really like the retro look of the new ones. it's a sharp car, but I'd still and did go with a Charger.
Also, if you like the retro look of the Mustang then I'd propose waiting for the new Challengers to come out in '08/'09. If the last variant looks anything like the idea car it is going to be a great car.
As for the person that said the Chargers are not real Chargers, it has four doors but it certainly makes up for it. The new Chargers really are great cars and the Hemi is plenty powerful.
In the end, the choice really is yours. Read up on the cars, test drive them and form your choice from that. Happy shopping.

I have a Dodge Magnum and all I can tell is that it is one bad looker of a car.
Whenever my wife drives everyone keeps looking at her driving such a hot car.guys keep hitting on her when she's fuelling up with the kids in the back seat.when I drive it I get stopped by the cops because they want to see up close.

I own a 300 c and have never gotten as many compliments on any car I have owned and have still heard more than some people say they like the look of the charger over the 300 I have never heard someone say theyed rather have the mustang.I say go charger and if you look back on your choice it'll due to mustang in your rare view mirror gradually falling back into the lost race group.

I'd go with the Dodge Charger, it's roomier and drives nice. Plus, you can't go wrong with a Dodge!
