For my money I could 1st attempt to good out the condition of my engine. lots may be tested and seen if you know what to look for. The next question also must be considered, how long are you going to keep your car. If your really going to do the upgrade then find a engine shop that does super charging. I am sure there is a kit out there that will work. do not go turbo unless you have the money to replace them when they break. They will not last as long as a super charger will. And rebuild the motor in either case. you must many miles on it to throw your bucks down the drain if an engine part breaks because of age.

I'm my own source. I was a Nissan Datsun mechanic for many years. I know the pit falls of turbos. trust me they do break and sooner than afterward. Its a design problem. Good Luck Mark

I could start with a compression check of your current engine. This will tell you the condition of the engine and if it's a good target for turbocharging.

in all honesty it could be easier to do a exchange. to turbo the NA engine you must add the twin turbo manifolds, fuel injectors, fuel pump, turbos, ecu, wiring harness, piping... to do the exchange it could be yank out the old engine and wiring, put in the new engine and wiring, replace the fuel pump with a twin turbo pump and viola.. it should run.
