Should I install an aftermarket headunit on my 2008 Scion TC??????
on saturday I bought a 2008 scion tc and it comes with a pioneer stock headunit with an ipod adapter and steering wheel controls volume, change stations, etc one of the salesmen didn't seem knowledgable told me that if I installed an aftermarket headunit I could lose the features of the steering wheel control AND the ipod adapter. I have seen scion tc's with aftermarket headunits, do those people really lose those features completely? because I don't really care about losing the steering wheel control but I don't want to lose my ipod adapter choice. is it possible to keep the ipod choice at least? I'd like to hook up some amps for speakers and a sub, so I'd like to know, .

many aftermarket manufacturers make a control interface to preserve steering wheel alternatives, usually an choice for a higher class model reciever. just go to your local tune shop and they'll be able to show you some alternatives. and they make ipod adaptors for most any make models now, and they're usually around 15 dollars

Like the last poster said, there are businesses that make adapters that let you to keep the use of your steering wheel controls with an aftermarket stereo.
I personally like the Pioneer AVIC D3 with the Ipod Adapter.
The iPod intergration is the best that I have seen.
