Liars..
Mostly Highway Miles.. that is BS..
Don't purchase that line. there aren't enough "highway" cars in America to make up all the "Highway Miles" cars that dealers attempt to sell.
That sales man is a liar, and you shouldn't purchase from a liar.

They may be usually highway miles.someone who works outside sales, as an example. but, how will you really know?
A good buy should seem right and bring value for the dollar. You did not say what the asking price was. If the dealer wants $12K for it, that could seem too much. On the other hand, it it is going for ~ $7K, well, that may be worth considering. regardless, I'd have a reputable mechanic look it over. With that many miles on the odo, the car is probably to be up for some big maintenance.
The biggest tell tale about the likeliness that this specific car may be useful IMO is the service record.how well has it been mainained.what kind of driver had it.how did they treat it. If it is been cared for, Honda merchandise have been recognized to run a great many miles beyond 230K b/4 requiring important service.

tell him you must pay 500$ for his highway miles, he's full of , besides, in the winter those miles will take their toll on the car. every salesperson will assert "highway" miles, how do they know?, after all most used car dealers by their cars from auctions.. it is a great car but do not pay more than 2000 for it,

That's a ton of miles regardless where they came from. Its most likely going to need some costly repairs soon. I could use up my money on something with less miles.

230K is possible. I had a 2000 CR V that someone stole from me in February 2006 with 191K on the odometer. My wife and I travelled lots in it. $4995 looks just but take benefit of the negotiable part ask him if he will sell for $4K or $4200. as well, have it inspected by a mechanic before you make an offer. It may have worn suspension parts or undercarrage or exhaust rust. You may want to learn where the car originated from also. I do not know where to go for all the information you will want to know well, this is the world large web so the info's here and Car Fax is not fool evidence. If the car crosses state lines, many times the title was cleared if it was a salvage title in the last state. Have it inspected or do a personal inspection for accident damage. NO CAR is perfectly repaired after an accident. Good luck.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the transmission problems on this car. be sure it was replaced, and then I would not purchase it. By a newer generation TL or older Acura in good form and you may want to be good.

This car is worth 3k at best with that kind of milage on it. I had a 96 TL with 195k miles on it. It was well taken care of but it needed lots of work. It had an oil leak, blower motor goed out, windows didn't generally want to work.
they most likely took that car in on trade for 500 bucks.
