Should I purchase a 2003 Audi a4 1.8T or a 2003 Volkswagon G

Should I purchase a 2003 Audi a4 1.8T or a 2003 Volkswagon GLI jetta?
I'm having mixed opinions on what I should do. Which one am I supposed to purchase and why? The A4 is 16,000 with 56,000 miles and the Jetta is 15,000 with 45,000 miles. The Jetta is a 6speed manual and the A4 is a five speed but is a 1.8T. The Audi is way nicer inside and looks bigger on the inside versus the GLI which is kind of bland on looks small, particularly for people to sit in the back. I heard that Audi's break down quicker, but Audi and Volkswagon are the same thing are not they?

Hi, I had a 2002 Audi A4 1.8 I traded in some months ago for a 2006 A4 2.0 Quattro. I had good luck with the 2002 It had 68,000miles when I traded it in, only small standard problems, but all covered under the warranty I had no problems from 50K miles till I traded it in., and I love the cars.. they drive stable, in all weather, as well as New England winters I live on MA/ NH line . They feel hard when you're driving it, and all the reviews from edmunds and other reviewers say exactly that. The price looks a little high for the 2003. I could see if you may be able to bargain that down to the 14500 14750 range. I am sure you will enjoy the A4 if you choose to go for it..

volkswagens are not good. but then again, both cars are made in the same factory so maybe audi's suck too. at least they look a bit nicer.
