Should I purchase this subwoofer?

its a sony twelve inch 250wrms sub with a jaycar 2x100wrms amp and in a case with all the wires. it also has a 1.5 farad fusion capacitor. its in good condition and I believe its about two years old but doesnt get used much. Is this a good package and how much could be a good price?? also I'm awhere that sony make crap subs but im more interested in the amp and case because I can generally replace the sub for under $100. all answers will be appreciated :

This could be a basic setup.

The ranking on that Jaycar sp? amp, 2x100wrms, is that at 4ohms? If when linked to a 4ohm sub it will put out about 400wrms x 1.

Advice, sell the crapacitor. Unless your alternator can keep the battery, the amplifier, and the cap charged up it will only hurt you. Instead, do the Big3 upgrade:

I've seen deals like this sell for $75 $100 in pawn shops and places like that. I would not pay more than $100 for sure.

Well this is a tough one. I think purchase it because you want the amp but replace the subs for something better quality, better sound and with more RMS power. 250 is okay but that is max right? You will not be able to have as much fun with it as you want. I sujjest purchasing a 500+ RMS power subwoofer hooked up to this amp and be sure its all connected properly so its running carefully and efitient.
