My wife and I are considering trading our 07 Mazda six 4cylinder in on a 2004 Lexus is300. But im not sure its a smart idea.
We will end up owing about 2k more than we do now on whole deal.
The Mazda is ok, but it's somewhat boring and, last to our owning it it was a rental car. We haven',t had any big problems with it, other than the tranny liquid being so dirty that my mechanic suggested that I have Mazda change the liquid as opposed to having him do it.." just in case I have problems in the future"
The Lexus is in perfect form, a one owner california car with a clean carfax and all of its maintance records since new. clearly this car has nicer features and better performance, but it's also three years older and it has twice the miles the Mazda does.
We',re emotionally torn on this one. Financially, I don',t think it seems right. But simultaneously I can',t help but wonder if, with the mileage difference, the Lexus could be more dependable and hold its value better.
What am I supposed to do?
BTW I',m not worried about FWD vs RWD and snow, etc. I',ve owned RWD before, and never had problems.
