Slow Drivers: Driving five ten miles under limit? |
|
I never really know what to do when I get behind one of these drivers going UNDER the speed bound, hence impeding the normal flow of traffic. could you rather that I ride your rear hoping that you'll really come up to the speed bound or could you favor that I go around you if it means I'll make a right turn right after that. I have to deal with this daily on the street that turns into my neighborhood. Personally I think drivers like these should be ticketed for driving too slow. They post the speed limitations for a reason. Thoughts?

Yes, I agree with old or impaired drivers. Problem is 95% of the time it's someone on a cell phone trying to do both simultaneously. as well, half of these new cars appear not to have any turn signals, but that's a whole other issue.

For your information Paul, I have NEVER been in accident that was my fault. One was black ice, the other a stupid kid that jumped into a turn lane 100 feet after the turn lane started and ran into me. I have NEVER had any kind of ticket. I travel the posted speed bound, don't talk on cell phone as I drive and am a good driver. I'm just tired of all of these people that think they're the only people on the road. I plan my travel time reliant on the what it could take driving at the posted speed NOT by one some idiot decides is the speed bound he wants to go.

Thanks David. You make the most sense. From on I'll speed up to go the speed bound go around the person slow down and make my turn. If they you hit me, it'll then be your fault

On the Autobahn, flashing your brights behind someone means "move over" Of course that only works if they are driving in the passing lane. If they are being a jackass and going slow in the right lane, just be patient or pass them when you have enough room and time to do so.
They ought to make the speed bound the same as the minimum speed.

I know what you mean, but put yourself in the other persons shoes. Why are they driving slow..overcautious, last tramatic accidents, old, handicapped, bad driver period, fears of drving, young, old, poor eyesight, etc. Just be patient, what will you save one minute in to get to your destination at most?

YES, I have thoughts. You aren't obliged to travel AT the speed bound. it's the maximum speed. You may legally go ten or 15MPH UNDER the bound, as long as you're in the right lane.
Someday when you grow up, you will realize that all your hurrying over the years has only caused you stress and maybe some accidents.

posted speed limitations are never paid attention to, don't ride someones rear as they could hit the brakes and you could hit their rear, and get a ticket for following too close, it's also dangerous to follow too close and against the law, the best idea could be to pass them when you have a clear lane and enough time / space to do so in a safe manner, to get mad will do you no good either

Yeah its a speed bound. As in that's the fastest that you may go. . The speed bound does not mean you must go that fast. It just means you aren't allowed to go faster than that. And if you drive like that around me ill just lock my brakes up so you hit me. Then ill have fun suing you. Either that or hope a cop shows up and you get a ticket for violent driving.

life isn't a racetrack if you're about to slow down and turn in the next mile or so why attempt to drive 45 instead of 38 for 3/4 of a mile, then start slowing down to turn now if you're far enough in front of the slow car that youwont slow it down then do your thing the slow car isn't bothered by you passing him as long as you don't effect him also NO tee honking doesn't because any one to speed up any

If you're to get prepared to make a right turn anyway just take a deep breath and relax and wait for your street. If you're out on the highway and you see a slow car up ahead make the correct modifications to go around before you reach them. If you get caught behind them take a deep breath wait for a safe and proper moment and casually and carefully pass them. do not look at them. if they're in the fast lane. It can be my Mom. If it's my Mom she will just go slower if you ride up on her butt. Nice lady but I just can not seem to make her understand that the left lane is the PASSING lane. MOVE OVER...relax..breath ..slowly..
