PPD stands for passenger present detected. It tells the airbag control module if or not a passenger is in the seat. If you have a B1406 code, make sure and check under the seat for books, coke cans or any other object that can get in the way with the seat cushion sensing weight. If nothing under seat to get in the way, take the car to the dealer and have it checked out.

I don’t have idea what those codes are, but I do know that some years ago there was a recall for the airbags. The problem was that the sensor that has been supposed to find out the weight of the passenger and turn off the passenger airbag was a child's weight wasn't working. If that is your problem, they should pay to fix it.
