I'm wondering about the lifespan of the average Subaru mileage wise, and I generally hear and friends experienced Hondas and Toyotas running up to 200,000 or more. What could I expect from a Subaru?

Subaru use boxer engine. Pistons go side way which means they rub unevenly over a extended time period. they'll never last as long as the toyota or honda inline engines.
Turbos shortens the life more.
Non turbo engine EJ25 = 140k miles
Turbo engine EJ25 = 120k miles
at this point you only got about 65% of the power left.

the life span of a car is ruled by how you watch it, simple as that.

200,000 easy as long as you take care of the car. Keep the maintenance up to date and Subaru should last a long time.

My 1st Subaru was at 190,000 miles when I sold it . . . and it was still running well. I sold it to get a new Subaru, which is at 50,000 and hasn't had a problem.

My aunt has a Subaru she had over 200,000 miles on.

My experience could propose that Subaru's are very dependable. That being said, there are lots of variables that go into it how hard the driver is on the car, maintenance, etc.
