I had the same problem, you must take it to the dealership. I know it sucks. But your car should still be under warranty, unless you have an ungodly amount of miles on it, it should. You have to be more particular about your model info.
Most 325xis are 2004, that was their highest production year. clearly its an E46, but I have to know exactly what year it's to meet the criteria with the warranty.
If you aren't covered by the warranty, you must face the situation and have your BMW dealership do it. You bought a BMW, it's a curse we on occasion have to live with.
Unfortunately, replacing a fuse won't crack the problem. The problem is the system may just have worn out mine did and it needs to be reset mine did. The man above me, talking rods and whatever is pretty much, well, wrong. The problem is not the rods.
In cars that aren't made in China/Mexico/Dirqa Dirqastan out of Plastic Ford, Mercury the rods are comparatively negligible to the in general locking procedure. The problem is that the actuator for the locks became fatigued and inoperable.
Have your BMW technician check the lock assembly for poor actuation. attempt demonstrating and be sure he understands the problem. With my lock, on occasion it worked and other times it didn't it was sixes and generally happened at the most inconvenient times. Good luck.
Scheduled Maintenance AND UNFORESEEN PROBLEMS are included in the warranty. here is the link to the warranty info. Locks shouldn't wear out after less than five years. that is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard.

Your going to take off the door panel and replace the lock rod for it has fallen out or lose enough not to work, hope this helps.

Good chance it may just be the switch. purchase a switch and change it yourself its not hard at all. This is a common problem. Once you remove the switch its just a unplug the old one and plugin the new one kind of job. I could attempt this before you let the delarship get their hands on it. Since you state that all of the doors don't lock or unlock when you hit the switch I greatly doubt this is a actuator problem that could mean that every actuator in every door went bad simotaniously. Trust me, before you go ripping your door panels off just replace your switch.

You'll have to have the switch replaced..by the dealership. We had the dealership change ours the 1st time and it went again a short time afterward. Warranties are usually 36,000 miles and up to 100,000 miles. Only scheduled maintenance costs you nothing.replacing parts is never free.

BMW uses a complex central locking system because of rigorous EU prerequisites. so, it may benefit you to take your car to the dealer. The central locking system has a series of requirements that have to be met before it'll let the car to be locked or unlocked. You may have a faulty door switch, lock actuator or the lock button itself can be flawed.
If your car locks usually with the key, then you may just have a bad central locking switch. If your car has a moon roof, is it possible you left it open throughout a rainstorm? as well, since the button is directly beside the drink holders, could something spilled on it? You could start by replacing the button yourself. there's a chance that may be the problem and it'll save you lots of money. On the other hand, if the new switch does not fix it, you can not return it.
A BMW dealer has a specific computer called MODIC that can diagnose the locking system quickly and easily if all else fails.

did you spill soda or something in center console area??
use a pocket screwdriver and pry switch out. carefully not to crack wood trim . it should pop right out. clean it or purchase another.
dealerships only charge more that independent shops because they know want there doing. they see all the problems and have the correct equipment to diagnosis.
