The Mazda Mx5 Miata. A chick car or a true sports car?

Postby nowherebbb » Fri Sep 28, 2007 9:06 pm

Sports car in the truest sense. The performance is more than adequate from the 2litre engine and it handles, grips and goes round corners better than any american try at sportiness. I have had two of them and I do not care if anybody thinks its a chick car which they do. but if they are happy to be ignorant then good. My brother used to laugh at my car till he borrowed it for a couple of months now he's got one too.

A true sports car, but of the old school where "sports" mean looks, handling, acceleration and style, and NOT just a big deafening engine. Remember the chrome bumpers, short trunk, long hood, long wheelbase, short overhang, slight rake, four in the floor?

Or six in the floor, like new Miatas. Guys in SOCALM get really mad if you call their babies "chick cars". All the delight of a British roadster, with that Japanese quality and dependability.

Miata fan, and chick.

Soft top or not, the Miata is a true Japanese sports car. I think Miata in Japanese about translates into "horse and rider." Sure, it's very underpowered, though, with the addition of a small turbo kit think 8psi, intercooled that problem may be rectified. Now on the plus: it is rear wheel drive, lightweight, nimble, stylish, and stout the B6/BP motors may be ran into the ground . It could be a good car to learn the better points of "high performance" driving. I think the problem is that Americans were used to equating muscle cars with sports cars. It does not have a big dick swinging V8, and it will not send the rear tires into nuclear meltdown, so it is not cool.

A great handling chassis which is the biggest selling open car ever . To make it a true sports car you'd need a touch more poke but that's easily achieved.so.

true sports car

Depends on what you do with it. I personally own a 1990 miata and yeah somepeople could say it's a chicks car. But after I am done with mine it'll be a true sports car.
I'm in the procedure of put a 351 windsor in my miata
check out the webpage, then let me know ifyou think it's still a girly car.

Barbie has a Miata. it is a chic car. Rename is with letters and numbers to attempt and make it sound cool its still a chic car, or a center age crisis car.

The american machismo the "manly" point of view sez its a chick car. But true blue open minded car fans call the MX five a car that has high performance for a reasonable price. The Miata's basic style is cute. Dress it up nicely so it'd appear like something that is definetely fun to race or drive in.

P.S. IMO, Miatas look cooler with the pop out headlamps and agreeing "angel eye" lights.

I'm going with both. The first gens are to cute for boys to drive, but the two new generations are good looking sports cars. I love them all.

Own the new one, and I could certainly say it is a sports car.
