i bought a boss BV9050 in dash dvd player, and its not too complex I think I can do it, but what about purchasing a wiring harness?.. is that a must? Also just some minor info or any do's and dont's could be welcome, I'm a little unexperienced. thanks.

If your not that talented with wiring diagrams and soldering wires together. I think that you could be better off to get a wiring harness for your car. I have many years of installing stereo equipment and it comes natural to me. I have find people that think they can do it and only to learn that its a bit more hard to do. So save your self some time and get a wiring harnes for your car. I favor crutchfield, since they have everything included in the kit to install any stereo in a specific car. Hope this helps.

If it's a newer car, bring it to a pro. I tried to install a headunit into a 06 pathfinder. I'm really good with tech stuff. When I was done the airbag light could not go off. Wire harness is a must
