transmission questions |
|
im working on a project 67 chev pickup, it has no motor. I have a 83 or so chev wagon that i am gonna take the 350 out of and rebuild for this truck. the question i have is wich transmission to use. I know nothing about trannies, other than i prefer to have a manual in my pickups. the tranny that is in the truck now seem incredibly small to me, but looking at some pics online, it looks like it may be a correct transmission. The numbers i remeber seeing on it are gmc 1 followed by a serial code maybe? and on the cone that goes back to the drive line has the number f180 stamped on it. any one know if this is a good manual transmission? i can get pics and or more numbers if it would help. or should i just use the automatic transmission that is in the wagon? oh and the small tranny in the truck has 2 shift linkages on the the side of it. if that helps
