Vehicle failed for hydrocarbons badly, what may be the fix?
I done a full tune up, new distruber cap, cables, sprak plug.. new PCV valve new air filter
still planing on taking EGR valve off and cleaning it
after I did all this the hydrocarbons ppm went up another 100, not many mechanics told me it went up caused by better and full combustion creating more exhaust
Hydro carbonsa readings are now nearly 500ppm and inspections requires less then 220ppm
I do all the work myself thinked maybe replacing the Catlic convertor and the oxygen sensor
What else am I supposed to do?
I has told to give more information when posted this question the 1st time so.
Its a 91 S ten Blazer 4.3L V6 160000 miles
Check engine light isn't on
Idles smoothly now that tune up was done also looks to have more power now
Please in your answer post any other information I may have to list so I can repost question with it and get better answers.

You just answered your question. Change the O2 sensor and the catalytic. But most probably it is the O2 sensor. I still have the stock catalytic on my Honda which has over 250,000 miles and it still measures low. One thing, when you take it to get it check again. Run the car for at least 30 min. because you want the catalytic hot. The hotter the cat. the better it works.

Firstly when doing the test you may want to idle it as high as you're allowed to, the faster it runs the more economical it burns fuel. Other than that, sell it and purchase a new car. its not worth putting any money into as its only worht maybe $1000.

ok tune up helped to get it running better wish I had the co and nox. gas readings but if co readings are passing then o2 is most likely good. run spray type carb and intake cleaner or gm top engine cleaner through the engine by holding throttle just off idle and spraying it into the throttle body not to fast or it'll stall. after the decarbon service change the oil use a heavier oil than average replace the cat and drive about 15 miles before retesting.
