Will a 2.0 idle air control valve work in my 2.5 v6? |
|
My mechanic worked on my car 93 Mx6 LS 2.5 V6 & I Was told I Need a new Idle air control valve. I called many stores but the only place that looks to have the part is the dealer. The dealers trying to charge me $728 for it while on ebay they are a couple valves but from different years that cost about 20 dollars. So of course I wondered if its possible to put a 2.0 valve or a valve from like a 95 mx6 in my 93 because that could save me lots & lots of money.

Negative they are different beasts. If you bop by a store that has them, you will find that in a side by side comparison, they are nothing alike. They are not the same between the auto and manual tranny variants for the non LS 2.0l engine.
FYI, you may be able to pick one up for $480 at places like AutoZone. Not cheap, but the right one, and better than $728. The only "cheap" one for the 2.0l engine is the one for the manual tranny the one for the auto is costly than yours is for your 2.5l.
