Subaru impreza, what does IMPREZA actualy mean or stand for?

IMPREZA literally interpreted from the local Japanese dialect means:

The Subaru Impreza is a compact car that was 1st presented by Subaru in 1993. also to filling the small car market part among Subaru's offerings in the Japanese, U.S., European and different other markets, the Impreza chassis rose to prominence in rally racing more effectively than Subaru's last contenders. previously, Subaru had fielded its bigger, mid size car, the Legacy, for rally reasons. but, as rally competition shifted toward smaller and lighter chassis, Subaru needed a smaller and faster car—a role in which the Impreza was now successful and in which the Impreza continues to compete effectively, although in more powerful variants than were firstly presented.

It most likely does not mean anything. Many car businesses hire outside companies to pick names that are memorable and distinctive while evoking meaning. My guess is that the name is evocative of the word "impressed", and is easy to pronounce and remember in most languages. It sounds simple but car businesses pay millions of dollars to pick the right name for a car.

Maybe it does not stand for anything. It may be just what they called it. Like Avensis Toyota does not stand for anything, it is just what they called it.

Big Japanese businesses typically do not arrive at their brand names without serious thought & research although it must be remembered that these Jap lish words that seem so laughable to native English speakers are intended to read / heard by native Japanese speakers 1st and primary. If they use or discard the name abroad Subaru HQ really does not care.
