Without any aftermarket mods, the M3 convertibles only came with the stock 2.3L that had 192bhp.

The EVO III had somewhat bigger power, but not 220bhp.

BTW, the e30 M3 convertible never officially made it to the US. You may have some that were federalized in the US after being sold in Canada.

No talk about of a 220bhp E30M3.

The 1st generation of the M3 was presented in 1986. It was depending on the E30 body of the three Series which started in late 1982. Unlike the E36 M3 which while being more powerful was first intended for the high performance sports car market and more worked on towards understatement and comfort, the E30 M3 was a real race bred homologation car born for the race track. The 1st E30 M3 had a four cylinder with 2.3 liters and 195 hp with a catalytic converter and 200 hp without. It has been followed by a range of Evolution models, highlighted by the Evo III with 2.5 liters and 238 hp in 1990, also as by some special editions see table below . To the United States, only the 195 hp Standard variant with a cat. was imported from 1987 to 1990.

The E30 M3 was available as a quite nice convertible from 1988 to 1991. As the Evo models and special editions, it was never sold in the USA.
