you're correct the GS 300 and GS 430 are sport sedans. And also added to that line is the all new GS 450h, which is the hybrid model of the GS and the fastest car in the Lexus line.

The all new ES 350 is a touring sedan. it'll provided for a softer ride whereas the GS is all about power and stability.

The ES 350 does have 272 hp which is nothing to complain about. Also the ES is a front wheel drive car and the GS is rear wheel.

Both vehicles are alike in size, but the GS will be tighter inside as it feature sport seating.

Also do not be fooled by into thinking that the ES is just a cool Camry. Yes, Lexus is owned by Toyota but more technology and different materials were used in the Lexus brand.

Also if you're considered buying a Lexus or any other vehicles, be sure to test drive your choices all on the same day.

HUGE difference between the two. Most ES models are just dressed up Toyota Camry's. Now do not take that wrong, they're awesome cars. But the GS has no sister car, she was intended early on in the Lexus years and was a real dog. But then in about 1999 Lexus revamped the GS into a real mean machine. The GS400 or GS430 are the real sport cars. they'll easily smoke any BMW three or five series and taking turns.HA. Unbelievable in what these cars can do.

If you want a basic smooth riding small family car, get the ES. If you want the same thing but in a somewhat bigger package with some balls under the pedal.then get the GS.

If you like the long look of the vette or the old Jaguars.look into the last body style SC400 couple. Its a sleeper car and with traction control turned off she'll smoke the tires for as long as your foot is into it.

Check the stats.the GS400 and the SC400 are paired up with Camaro Z28 or TA that comes with the Vette engine and six speed.

You can not go wrong with a Lexus.I will say that.
