the forthcoming s6 and s8 both use changed variants of the lamborghini galardo 5.0 v10
the gallardo outputs 500 hp
the s6 and s8 are bored out to 5.2 L displacement
s6 will output 420 hp
s8 will output 460 hp
the q7 doesn't use a v10

The New Audi S8 has the same engine as the Lamborghini Gallardo but it has a different fuel injection system I think, I know one or two parts of that engine are distinctive to the Audi S8 .
Also the five cylinder engine in the Jettas is generally the same engine except cut in half.

The Audi S8 and Lambroghini have generally the same engine, though they're tuned differently. Since the Audi S8 weighs more than Lambroghinis, their engine is tuned to give a bit more torque. The Lambroghinis are lighter, and are tuned to make more hp.

What's the difference between torque and horsepower? Without making this a physics lecture, hp establishes how fast a car can go, while torque establishes how fast you may be able to speed up under load. Imagine a sprinter and a linebacker trying to run 400 yards. The sprinter can obviusly go faster, but if they both had to carry a 200 pound person for that distance, who do you think could win then?
