If you are interested in a new Baja, you'd better act soon. The last Baja rolled off the production line in Lafayette, IN back in April and dealers will most likely get their last Bajas in July.
If you may be able to pay for it and the premium gasoline it likes, the Baja Turbo is a fast car. The Baja is depending on the Legacy/Outback platform and shares the same service manuals. I, personnally, am not too fond of the body cladding, but it does serve a function.
Although the Baja has not been tested by the IIHS for crashworthiness, other Subaru have. The 2006 Forester, Impreza and Legacy all received "GOOD" ratings in every group rare. I expect the Baja to be safe, also.
